Worcester company led by city property developer in receivership

Marsten Developments (Worcester) Limited, which had been run by city born developer Stennard Harrison, now has a company status of ‘receiver action’, according to Companies House.

Mr Harrison ceased to be a director at the company on October 29 this year, according to documents on Companies House.

Receiver action is when a receiver is appointed to manage and secure the assets of a company or individual. Savills has been named as the receiver in documents on Companies House.

The company, registered at 75 The Porthouse, Lowesmoor, Worcester, is described as being involved in the development of building projects.

We reported in October how Sherriff’s Gate Limited, where Worcester-born and bred Stennard Harrison is a company director, announced administrators had been appointed to the company to oversee the management of its finances amid a series of outstanding charges.

However, a property company which manages the apartments built in the first phase said the administration only affected the developer’s planned future phases and residents had no cause for concern.

We approached Mr Harrison for comment about Marsten going into receivership and he said it would not affect the Stenergy UK plan for a food waste facility in Hindlip (Stennard Harrison is listed on Companies House as one of the officers).

With a 2026 mandate for all UK councils to divert waste away from landfill and incineration in accordance with DEFRA’s guidance, Stenergy’s £30 million biomethane plant will convert 48,500 tonnes of domestic and industrial food waste annually into renewable energy.

A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: “There is no impact from this (on the food waste facility).  The planning application process will continue and, if granted permission, this would apply to the land not the land owner.”

We have approached the receivers for comment.
