TripAdvisor just revealed the top beaches in America for 2025 and the top 4 are all stunners.
Going coast to coast and beyond, Americans should feel truly spoiled by how many amazing beach vacations we can choose right in our own backyard.
Ranging from Florida to California and a pair of paradises in Hawaii, TripAdvisor crowned the best of the best in their latest edition of their Travelers’ Choice Awards.
As usual, there were some surprises on the list, including number one, since Mother Nature showed little mercy to the region last year.
But, before we dive into that, let’s get the ball rolling with a beach I know all too well as I live 20 minutes away.
Without further ado, these are the top 4 U.S. beaches to visit this year:
4) La Jolla Cove: Looks Over Smells?
The closest thing Southern California has to Hawaii has to be La Jolla. This vibrant coastal neighborhood is where many of San Diego’s one-percenters reside, including award-winning musician Alicia Keys.
It’s genuinely picture-perfect, which is why it’s such a popular location for snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking sea caves year-round.
There are multiple beaches to choose from, and most opt for La Jolla Shores in the summertime.
In fact, La Jolla Cove isn’t much of a beach at all and more of a tourist attraction to take selfies, err, “seal-fies” with a gathering spot for seals and sea lions.
As such, TripAdvisor left out the part where the Cove absolutely reeks! As seals bask in the sun all day, the odors of what could only be compared to seafood past its shelf life permeate through the air to the point where guests at nearby hotels don’t even open their balcony doors or windows.
While La Jolla Cove is truly stunning to look at and awesome for up-close encounters with seals (safely, of course), visitors should know it’s not a great base for a beach day as the stench is only bearable for so long.
3) Ka’anapali Beach: Perfect Conditions & Epic Sunsets
Ka’anapali Beach is located in Maui, which has since begun welcoming visitors back after unprecedented fires ravaged the popular vacation spot in 2023, likened to even more recent fires in Los Angeles.
Ka’anapali is the ultimate beach day destination with warm, vivid blue waters perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing all day until sundown.
TripAdvisor suggests hanging around to watch the epic sunsets Ka’anapali Beach is known for, but to also keep an eye out for whale sightings.
This three-mile stretch of white sand is one of Hawaii’s prettiest beaches and is lined with high-end hotels to make your base, such as Hyatt Regency Maui Resort And Spa and The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapali.
2) Poipu Beach Park: A Hawaiian Haven For Aquatic Life
Like La Jolla, Poipu Beach Park is a popular place to see seals living their best life, except here you’ll find Monk Seals lounging around and going for swims.
Additionally, this is one of Hawaii’s most sought-after destinations for snorkeling to hover above the lava rocks, sea turtles, and colorful schools of fish and sea plants.
Poipu Beach Park is for those who love to explore the waters but not so much for those looking for a nice resort.
That being said, one advantage you have by coming here is you don’t have to pack lunch. You can walk over to Puka Dog’s to try Hawaii’s one-of-a-kind hot dogs, and it’s on the lower end of pricing as we all know Hawaii vacations can rack up quick!
1) Siesta Key: #1 Yet Again!
Every year, Siesta Key and Clearwater compete in an unofficial duel to claim America’s crown as the country’s best beach.
Siesta Key has again risen to the occasion, crowned #1 by TripAdvisor. The only real surprise is that Southwest Florida was hit hard by Hurricane Ian last year, but fortunately, it left this white-sand paradise relatively unscathed.
I had the fortunate opportunity to visit Siesta Key last year, and it undoubtedly lived up to the hype. It has gleaming white sand, crystal-clear waters, and, as a bonus, surprisingly easy parking if you arrive early.
Siesta Key Village is also a charming area worth visiting for a bite to eat and souvenir shopping. That being said, if the crowds are too much this summer or if you don’t care to lug your cooler across powdery sand, I highly recommend neighboring Nokomis, too.
