What an incredible early morning Hot Air Balloon ride and outdoor nature breakfast it was!

When planning our safari adventure, I definitely wanted this Hot Air Balloon ride in Serengeti National Park, included. Were we ever glad we did!

Serengeti Hot Air Balloon Safari Experience
Our Serengeti Balloon Safaris driver picked us up at our Safari Camp in Northern Serengeti at 4:30 in the morning. We had a bit of a drive to our starting point, so our driver wanted to ensure we would arrive on time.
It looked like another excellent clear day ahead, making for a beautiful sunrise!
After arriving at the balloon site, we were greeted by our very friendly Captain {Frank} and enjoyed a hot beverage while he went over all the safety procedures and instructions for boarding the balloon.
We watched as the team began filling the balloon with air, in preparation for our flight. We were all buckled into our assigned positions in the balloon and were ready for takeoff.
Taking Flight In Our Hot Air Balloon
Our flight took to air just as the sun was rising, making for spectacular scenery and photographs.
Captain Frank explained how the balloon functions and how he operates the controls to maneuver the balloon during our flight.
Our flight would take us along the beautiful Mara River, located in this part of Northern Serengeti National Park. Along the way, hoping to spot the various wildlife lurking below.
This is where the annual Wildebeest Migration occurs, accompanied by the thousands of Zebras, who join them on this incredible migration.
Feeling At One With Nature In The Air
There is absolutely no feeling like that of floating in the air in absolute silence, taking in the sounds and the beauty of nature surrounding you.
It was at times, almost surreal. Nothing we had ever experienced before. Captain Frank with his years experience piloting over Serengeti, knew exactly what direction to travel, to allow us the best opportunities to view the wildlife below.
As he guided the Hot Air Balloon to different levels for best viewing, we had a vantage point for viewing a variety of wildlife.

Viewing The Wildlife Of Serengeti From Above
As the sun came over the horizon, the views over the Mara River were stunning!
Viewing the wildlife below was incredible.
From witnessing a lone lion in the distance, in search of its prey. Lions will prey on a variety of animals, some of which include; baboons, water buffalo, rodents, zebras, and antelopes.
Over the water, we spotted an enormous crocodile on the shoreline. At this time of year, they will prey on the wildebeests attempting to make the migratory crossing over the Mara River.
From water buffalo, warthogs, baboons, hyenas, zebras and antelopes, catching sight of all these animals was amazing from above!
Our journey lasted about one hour, but seemed to fly by in minutes.
Breakfast Is Served In The Wild
We slowly made our descent to a different landing location, where our table was set for a wonderful breakfast
served outdoors in a picturesque setting in Northern Serengeti National Park.
Flight Certificate
After our wonderful breakfast in the wild, Captain Frank presented each one of us with a very cool {Flight Certificate}.
It certified us as being one very lucky individual who flew in a hot air balloon over Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, Africa.
A great way to end the morning, having our photos taken with our outstanding Hot Air Balloon Captain {Frank}.

We made sure to include this in our overall travel safari budget, as not to miss this once in a lifetime experience in this beautiful National Park in Tanzania, Africa.
Our morning with Serengeti Balloon Safaris could not have been any better. From the exciting balloon ride, to a first class breakfast served afterwards, it was an unforgettable experience.
