Norwegian Cruise Line is rolling out four brand-new original productions set to debut on nine ships through September 2025. These shows—Red, White, & British, Bring Back the 90s, ICONS: The Bands, and Ignite the Night—mark a shift in NCL’s entertainment lineup, moving away from Broadway-style productions in favor of music-driven performances designed to appeal to multiple generations.

A Look at NCL’s New Shows

  • Red, White, & British: This show, developed with Burn the Floor, celebrates British music legends, featuring songs from artists like Queen and David Bowie. It launches on Norwegian Breakaway on March 14, Norwegian Epic on May 14, and Norwegian Prima on August 24.
  • Bring Back the 90s: If you’re a ‘90s kid (or just love the era’s music and style), this one might be for you. Described as an “Alice in Wonderland-inspired journey,” the show brings together hits from Alanis Morissette, Salt-N-Pepa, and Destiny’s Child with a blend of fashion, dance, and multimedia effects. It premiered on Norwegian Getaway on March 2 and will debut on Norwegian Joy on July 7.
  • ICONS: The Bands: A concert-style tribute celebrating legendary bands, this show kicks off on Norwegian Encore on March 30 before heading to Norwegian Escape on May 25.
  • Ignite the Night: Bringing the glitz of red carpet events and awards show-style performances, this dance-heavy production debuted on Norwegian Jewel on March 2 and will join Norwegian Gem on September 5.

Beyond the theater productions, NCL is adding more live music, interactive performances, and impromptu entertainment moments around the ships. These additions seem to be an effort to create a more immersive entertainment experience beyond just scheduled shows.

NCL’s entertainment team has set some high expectations with these new productions, and it’ll be interesting to see how guests respond. While some cruisers love the variety, others have expressed mixed feelings, particularly about the shift away from Broadway-style productions on certain ships.

For those sailing on an NCL ship in 2025, these new shows could be a highlight—or at least an interesting addition—to the cruise experience.
