KPKT Blacklists 109 Property Developers, Issues RM9.03 Million In Fines

The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) has blacklisted 109 developers for failing to comply with regulatory requirements as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the interests of homebuyers.

Its Minister Nga Kor Ming said a total of 471 notices were issued in 2024 through the National Housing Department with fines totalling RM9.03 million.

“For the first two months of 2025, the department has issued 56 compounds with fines amounting to RM1.25 million.

“The majority of the violations involved failure to submit development status reports as well as failure to submit audit reports including balance sheets and profit and loss statements to the authorities,” he said during a press conference.

He added that the blacklisted developers will not be eligible to apply for new licenses until they settle the outstanding fines.

“The action of blacklisting these developers sends a clear message that we will not tolerate non-compliance.

“We are taking firm action to protect the hard-earned money of homebuyers and ensure that they receive the homes they deserve,” he said.

He stressed that developers need to comply with regulations to ensure their projects are completed on time and comply with the set standards.

“I encourage homebuyers to check the developer’s license status on the official website https://teduh.kpkt.gov.my before purchasing a property,” he said.
