
To the Editor:
After reading, I live in Umatilla and my property taxes increased $100.00 and more to come.
Well, even if you live in the woods, we are all subject to property taxes. May not be fair to you, but that’s not a concern for elected people.
Bottom line: The state is being overdeveloped and the money developers contribute to candidates’ coffers for election or re-election is bigger than our monthly food budgets and more.
So either be active in attending council meetings and being prepared to present evidence as to why overdevelopment should not be allowed and contact legislators and say you’re not in favor of it.
