Free Event For Property Developers Is Built On Solid Foundations — Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce

The event is on Tuesday 10 February 2026, from 3.45pm to 6.30pm, at The Terrace on the fifth floor of 3 Wellington Place, which is a short walk from Leeds railway station. Places are already filling up fast with a limited number remaining.

Hosted by LCF Law, ADM Marketing and Marquess Tax, attendees will hear four focused 20-minute talks, spanning the full development journey from acquiring land, structuring deals and avoiding costly disputes, through to marketing and selling in today’s climate.

Joseph McCullough from LCF Law will explain the essential legal steps between securing land and beginning construction, as well as talking about conditional contracts, overage, joint ventures and estate set up. He’ll also look at how to protect value, avoid delays and set projects up for success from the outset.

Property tax specialist, Sam Lockwood, from Marquess Tax, will focus on minimising tax liabilities whilst staying fully compliant with UK tax law and HMRC guidelines. He’ll also highlight key tax reliefs, common oversights and practical tax saving opportunities when acquiring land or structuring development projects.

Tony Moss, from ADM Marketing, will share clear, practical guidance on how to attract buyers, strengthen brands and equip developments with a marketing edge to ensure they stand out and sell.

Finally, LCF Law’s Shaun Lowry will discuss common construction pitfalls and how to prevent costly disputes by outlining practical steps developers can take to avoid problems and keep projects on time and out of conflict.

LCF Law’s Joseph McCullough said: “The property industry is continually evolving, especially because laws and tax rules never stand still, so this event is designed to offer clear strategies to maximise opportunities and minimise risk in today’s market.

“It will appeal to both new and seasoned developers operating across both the residential and commercial sectors. Guests can also enjoy canapés, drinks and relaxed networking with fellow property developers and industry experts, so it promises to be a popular event, and anyone interested should register now to secure their place.” For further information about the event and to reserve a place, email [email protected].
