The former CEO of Vanguard Properties, José Cardoso Botelho, has started a residential property development company – The Mark Properties.

Its aim is to not only build houses, but “create moments, stories and legacies” with an approach that seeks to change the housing market while making a contribution to society in a sustainable way.

Above all, the new company wants to be part of Portugal’s current challenge in reducing the pressure on the housing market by relieving the perennial housing shortage through innovative projects.

“We plan to incorporate the principles of sustainability in each development while fostering economic growth by creating qualified jobs” says José Cardoso Botelho, founder of The Mark Properties.

The Mark Properties also aims to attract national and international investment by developing strategic partnerships that increase investment flows.

José Cardoso Botelho is a prominent Portuguese entrepreneur and real estate executive, known for being the co-founder and former CEO of ​Vanguard Properties ​and for dedicating himself to the development of premium and luxury residential projects in Portugal, with a strong focus on design and quality. ​

He is also Vice President of the Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors (APPII) and has been recognised with awards such as “Personality of the Year in Real Estate 2024”. ​
