The inclusion of Shenzhen, Da Nang, and Siem Reap positions Emirates as a leader in the aviation industry, boasting the most extensive and varied route network of any non-Asian airline in East Asia. Passengers can enjoy an impressive 269 flights each week from Dubai to 24 vibrant destinations. This latest expansion not only highlights Emirates’ commitment to growth but also marks an important milestone as it establishes its fourth gateway into the dynamic Chinese mainland, its third bustling destination in Vietnam, and its second culturally rich point in Cambodia.

“We remain committed to offering business and leisure travelers unparalleled access to Southeast Asia and the broader East Asia region by delivering an extensive flight schedule. Our expansion into Shenzhen opens new doors for business and economic exchange between this technological powerhouse and global markets. As we prepare to launch operations, we extend our gratitude to the Chinese authorities and airport partners for their ongoing support and are committed to ensuring this route’s success while fostering cultural bonds and unlocking future economic potential,” said Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim.

“Vietnam holds a strategic place in our Southeast Asia network. Our decision to expand operations to Da Nang as our third point in Vietnam comes at an opportune moment, following the landmark Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Vietnam. We are confident that our new service will elevate the existing bilateral trade and commercial collaboration between our nations. We extend our gratitude to our local partners and Da Nang International Airport for their support. Emirates is also making it easier for travelers to connect to Siem Reap, home to Angkor Wat, one of Cambodia’s most popular destinations with its incredible ancient wonders and natural beauty. With the addition of these new gateways, we’re strengthening our links, giving customers more choice, offering an unparalleled onboard experience and ensuring seamless and convenient connections to and from China’s largest cities, Vietnam’s emerging economic and leisure hubs, and Cambodia’s touristic treasures,” he added.

Emirates expansion to Shenzhen

Emirates has made a significant milestone by inaugurating daily flights to Shenzhen, establishing itself as the first Middle Eastern airline to connect directly with this bustling hub of technology and innovation on the Chinese mainland. This ambitious move follows a legacy that began in 2002 when Emirates became the first airline to forge direct air links between the Middle East and China with its inaugural services between Dubai and Shanghai. Over the past two decades, this pioneering partnership has flourished, supported by the strengthening bilateral ties between the UAE and China, and expanding operations to major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. This latest expansion into Shenzhen not only enhances connectivity but also reinforces Emirates’ commitment to fostering global travel and trade.

With the introduction of new flights, Shenzhen is set to become the first destination in China to feature the airline’s newly retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER. This state-of-the-art aircraft offers passengers the chance to indulge in the airline’s latest lavish Business Class seats and its highly praised Premium Economy product. The four-class Boeing 777-300ER is designed with traveler comfort in mind, boasting 8 luxurious private suites in First Class, 40 lie-flat seats that transform into beds in Business Class, 24 exclusive Premium Economy seats for a more spacious journey, and a generous 260 roomy seats in Economy Class. Each aspect of this aircraft has been meticulously crafted to elevate the travel experience, ensuring that every passenger enjoys unparalleled comfort and service throughout their journey.

Emirates plays a pivotal role in global logistics, facilitating the transport of an impressive 2,000 tonnes of cargo each week from the bustling Chinese mainland. The recent addition of Shenzhen to its route network establishes a crucial link between Chinese enterprises and international markets, while further strengthening the vibrant economic partnership between the UAE and China.

Shenzhen, renowned as a powerhouse of technology manufacturing, generates a diverse array of valuable cargo streams that require specialized handling and rapid delivery, especially for sophisticated electronics and innovative tech products. As a key part of a Special Economic Zone, Shenzhen continually enhances its cargo handling capabilities, positioning itself as a leader in efficient logistics.

Emirates SkyCargo anticipates uplifting a remarkable 10 tonnes of cargo per flight between Shenzhen and Dubai, effectively supporting exports that include cutting-edge devices and an array of e-commerce items. This enhanced connectivity not only boosts trade but also fosters collaboration and growth in the high-tech sector, reinforcing the importance of Shenzhen in the global marketplace.
