Columbia real estate development firm adds to executive team

A Midlands real estate development firm has added a new member to its leadership team.

Cason Development has named Christopher Peake, as vice president of finance, according to a news release. With over 15 years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, and strategic leadership, Peake will oversee financial operations, budgeting, and long-term financial planning for the company.

“We are very excited to welcome Chris to our team,” said Frank Cason, president of Cason Development, in the release. “We continue to be blessed with team members who desire to grow personally, professionally and spiritually. Chris is a culture driver with deep financial expertise and a strategic mindset.”

Peake joins Cason Development from Clean Harbors, where he served as senior director of finance, managing financial operations for its United States Industrial Service businesses generating $800 million in revenue, the release stated. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at Thompson Industrial Services, Amick Farms, and SCANA Corporation, gaining extensive experience in financial reporting, forecasting, strategic planning, and risk analysis.

A licensed CPA, Peake earned both his master’s of accountancy and bachelor’s in business administration (accounting and corporate finance) from the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, according to the release. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in optimizing financial performance, leading acquisition integrations, and implementing data-driven decision-making processes, the release stated.
