About The Casa Gangotena Hotel
Situated along historic {San Francisco Square} the original building an 18th-century family mansion, was destroyed by fire in 1914 and rebuilt in the 1920s.
The Casa Gangotena Hotel is owned and operated by Metropolitan Touring. This well established and world renowned travel company began operating excursions to the Galapagos Islands, back in the 1950’s.

This restored Mansion has just 31 beautiful Guest Rooms including:
Luxury, Luxury Plus, Junior Suite, Balcony Junior Suite, Suite, Plaza View Rooms
All rooms are unique and distinct in their own way and luxuriously appointed.
From comfortable air-conditioning, beautifully thick carpeted floors, sound-proofed and all are non-smoking.
Each has a large private bath, with most appointed with separate bathtubs and showers. Each bath with all the expected amenities of such a luxurious hotel.
Guest room amenities include:
Intelligent door key-cards;
In-room safe boxes;
Wireless internet access;
Large flat screen television with international cable channels;
Complimentary flat and sparkling water;
Bath robes and slippers;
Coffee/Tea facilities and much more.
Our beautiful guest room was extremely large, including the guest bath. The room had a very comfortable king bed with plush pillows, 2 luxurious chairs with table, and a full desk with chair.
In all our travels throughout the world over the years, we have never stayed in a more luxurious hotel guest room, than that of the; Casa Gangotena.
We felt like royalty!
Hotel Amenities
Upon arrival, you are escorted to a private reception area for check in. You are warmly greeted by staff with a welcome beverage.
Check in is quick and you are in your guest room within minutes.
There’s a very large comfortable seating area located in the hotel’s main lobby area.
As well, guests can enjoy the private outdoor courtyard garden, also located off the lobby.
The lounge and bar is just steps away and must be seen to truly enjoy. It’s like stepping back in time, when you view the furnishing and lavish bar.
You can find a private corner in the bar to sit, relax and enjoy your favorite cocktail.
Top Floor Outdoor Terrace
One other main feature this hotel offers guests is the – top floor terrace. The view from above of San Francisco Square and Quito is stunning, especially in the evening hours.
Staff is always present on the terrace, where you can sit outdoors at any time of year, alongside a lovely gas fireplace and large heaters, even in the cooler winter months.
The outdoor terrace is a superb place to enjoy a cocktail and/or meal, while taking in the fabulous view of the city!
