Comment: Last week a set of economic policies entitled “Aotearoa Reimagined” was launched by the Council of Trade Unions. It did not get a lot of attention, being a week with quite a bit going on in the news media. But the policies involved have been a long time in gestation, through various drafts and hui and are intended to have an ongoing role in policy debate.

In coming weeks a Government Budget, a Labour response and a Green Shadow Budget are all in preparation. No doubt other parties and organisations will be making similar efforts. All will of course reflect their diverse support and target bases.
