Key appointments to strengthen Clyde Valley Group's assurance and property & development operations

Sinclair Young and Joe Hands

The Clyde Valley Group (CVG) has appointed two highly experienced professionals to key leadership roles within the organisation.

Sinclair Young has been appointed as the new director of property & development. Sinclair joins CVG from The City of Edinburgh Council, where he has led significant property and development projects. With a strong background in property management and development, Sinclair will drive forward CVG’s ambitious plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and sustainable housing solutions that meet the needs of our communities.

In his new capacity, Sinclair will provide strategic leadership over CVG’s property assets and new housing developments whilst also ensuring that CVG continues to meet and improve property standards. A strong focus on landlord health and safety, Sinclair will ensure that all homes are well-maintained, compliant and offer high-quality living conditions for our customers. As CVG continues to expand and invest in both new and existing properties, Sinclair’s leadership will be pivotal in delivering sustainable, safe and high-standard homes for the future.

Sinclair shared his enthusiasm for his new role: “I am excited to be joining CVG and lead the Property & Development Directorate. CVG has a strong track record of delivering high-quality homes and services and I look forward to working with the team to build on this success by ensuring we continue to invest in and develop sustainable housing that meets the needs of our communities.”

CVG also welcomed Joe Hands who has been appointed as CVG’s head of assurance. This newly created role will play a crucial part in fostering a strong assurance culture, ensuring robust risk management and enhancing compliance across the group.

Joe brings extensive experience from his previous roles within the NHS. His expertise in quality assurance, strategic development, data and risk management and internal audits will be instrumental in driving forward CVG’s assurance agenda. As a qualified coach with a proven track record in leading key national and local initiatives, Joe’s leadership will support the organisation’s strategic priorities for 2025 and beyond.

Joe echoed Sinclair’s enthusiasm: “I am thrilled to be joining CVG and building upon their strong foundation of assurance. CVG is committed to delivering the highest standards and I am excited to enhance and develop our assurance framework even further. My focus will be on strengthening risk management, compliance and internal controls to ensure we continue to operate at the highest level. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the group to drive excellence and innovation in everything we do.”

CVG said the appointments reinforce its commitment to keeping the customer at the heart of what it does, delivering service excellence, innovation and assurance across its services to ensure the highest standards of homes and community development.

Chief executive, Carron Garmory said: “We are thrilled to welcome Sinclair and Joe to CVG. Their expertise and leadership will be invaluable in driving forward our property and development ambitions and strengthening our assurance framework. It’s a great time that both Sinclair and Joe join us with the launch of our Strategy beyond 2025, I look forward to the  positive impact they will bring.”
