What I Like About Booking.com

Their website is easy to navigate and very user friendly. First, you select the {button} at the top of the page of what category you are looking for as mentioned above.

For example, if you want accommodation listings only, you simply click the {Stays} tab, enter your; destination, dates and how many in your party.

You will get a detailed list of properties to choose from, including past reviews from others, prices and so much more. You can even filter your selections to your liking, for more of what you are actually looking for.

Let’s say you want breakfast included in your stay and airport shuttle service. You just enter your preferences in the filter list and boom, you get a more detailed search to your liking, to pick from.

No Booking Fees & Free Cancellation!

This is something I’ve always liked about Booking.com. You will see in each listing, bold green
lettering stating … Free Cancellation.

This means you are free to book and can cancel at a specified date listed, with absolutely no fees.

I always send messages directly to the property I have booked with regarding our; room preference, time of arrival, confirmation and so on.

What I Don’t Like About Booking.com

In our experience over the years, we really have not had any issues dealing with this online booking platform.

I did have a credit card glitch at one time recently on a booking. I received an email from booking.com that my credit card was invalid. I thought the email was a scam and disregarded their notification.

My booking was then cancelled just prior to our stay. Luckily, the hotel sent me a direct message on my booking.com account, asking if they would hold the reservation for me.

When we arrived at our chosen hotel, my credit card worked just fine. So it must have been a credit card processing error on bookings end.

Booking.com is a 3rd party online booking website. This is great and we use it all the time, depending on our type of travel. If you like to book as you go during your travels, this is ideal.

If you like to book well in advance, as we do more often than not, I always check with the hotel, motel and other selected accommodation of choice directly. I like to check their rates and compare with both.

The plus side of reservation directly with the property, is you most likely will get a nicer room location and/or possible room upgrade. When booking with a 3rd party, they usually have allotted a certain amount of rooms that are available at discounted prices with platforms like Booking.com. These will not be their premium guest rooms.

However and as I mentioned above, I always send a direct message to the property with my preferences. It never hurts to ask and generally they have been very accommodating, depending where you are going and what time of year.

We like reserving with Booking.com and also directly with the properties we have selected. Depending where we are going and how we are traveling, is what method of reservation we choose.

Both have worked out great for us over the years!
