If all those long extra hours in the office have started getting to you, and you’re desperately craving a sunny vacation, the Caribbean certainly sounds like a no-brainer:

From the amazing resorts lining the beachfront to all the incredible food you can gorge on, there’s nowhere the average American would rather be on a paid vacation when they hardly ever get a chance to set their worries aside and truly unwind.

That being said, tropical getaways can sometimes come at exorbitant prices, especially if it’s an all-inclusive you’re going for:

In places like Barbados and Turks and Caicos, some resorts can have nightly rates of over a thousand dollars, and once you start adding up other costs, including flights, day tours, and transportation, that’s when you start having second thoughts.

Still, there’s no need to feel discouraged:

Thanks to U.S.-based insurance agency Insure MyTrip, now we know which 4 Caribbean destinations are the most budget-friendly in 2025, and these include an all-time favorite, and a lesser-known gem with smaller crowds:

Jamaica

Jamaica ranks 9th on Insure MyTrip’s list of the Most Affordable Destinations worldwide, and when it is narrowed down to Caribbean islands only, it is the fourth best-placed.

Famous for its vibrant reggae scene, being the birthplace of Bob Marley, and pristine coastline backed by a verdant jungle, it costs an average $4,145 per week to vacation in the country.

For instance, booking an all-inclusive week at the adults-only Riu Reggae, in Montego Bay, will run you up an acceptable $2,330 this April, while a 7-night stay in a standard room at the SeaGarden Beach Resort nearby costs an even-cheaper $1,707.

Over in Ocho Rios, yet another trendy Jamaican resort town, the local Riu has week-long rates starting from $1,864, while a studio apartment at Deluxe SandCastles Condos, managed by a private host, costs an affordable $791 to book as one adult.

According to Budget Your Trip, the cost of food outside resorts is equally low, as tourists will spend an average $40 on meals daily, and sites like Booking.com and Google Flights show average roundtrip airfares of around $679 for U.S. originating flights.

Of course, these depend on the season and departure point––flights from Florida tend to be cheaper––but it doesn’t change the fact that, all in all, Jamaica is a steal of a deal for a tropical escape.

Dominican Republic

Up next, we have the Dominican Republic, where you’re likely to spend $3,882 over a week.

Occupying the eastern half of Hispaniola island, one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, the DR lays claim to beautiful coastal areas, most notably Punta Cana and La Romana, and a historically-significant capital, Santo Domingo, famous for its well-preserved colonial center.

Punta Cana is the number one destination for Americans heading to the DR, due to its plethora of resort options, lively nightlife, and higher safety levels compared to other parts of the country, and the good news is, an all-inclusive deal here can cost as little as $1,489 in spring.

That’s the Catalonia Punta Cana for you, a five-star oasis with lagoon-style pools facing the ocean, and a sumptuous breakfast spread––and it’s not the only resort with attractive rates!

There’s an adults-only Catalonia Royal Bavaro, straddling the trendy Bavaro Beach, costing $1,786 to book per adult for the same period, and a Riu Republica, farther away from downtown Punta Cana, in a quieter stretch of coast, with rooms starting from $1,477 for the week.

Heading to La Romana instead?

The all-inclusive Bahia Principe Grand La Romana has listed 7-night deals for around $1,400 on Booking.com, and even the landmark Hilton Garden Inn, lining its own private beach, costs $1,676 to book as a single traveler.

When it comes to daily expenses beyond the resorts, Budget Your Trip has determined that roughly $61 on meals and $11 on transportation is a safe enough estimate, while flights between the U.S. and the DR can cost under $200 when booked early.

Bermuda

At the runner-up position, Bermuda is a British-administered territory in the Caribbean that’s been rising fast in popularity in recent years due to its pink-sand beaches, rich colonial heritage, and small harbor-side capital of Hamilton, a small city featuring a picture-perfect historic center.

When it comes to prices, it is almost on a par with the Dominican Republic, as a one-week visit will weigh as much as $3,821 on your pocket, only one dollar cheaper than the latter’s average, except you get far smaller crowds:

During the first six months of 2024, Bermuda hosted around 61,619 air passengers, capturing only a small fraction of the record-breaking tourism the Caribbean is experiencing as of late.

Cruise arrivals may be significantly higher, but this means that coastal paradises like Elbow Beach, Jobson’s Cove Beach, and Clearwater Beach remain largely unspoiled by the masses compared to their Mexican Caribbean or Dominican counterparts.

Additionally, you can find beautiful seaside apartments to rent for the week from $1,832––check out Sandpiper Apartments––and the average price of dinner in an inexpensive restaurant in downtown Hamilton is around $45.

Though Bermuda is primarily a cruise stop for many, flying there can be a far-cheaper way to reach the remote territory: from New York, both American Airlines and Delta offers flights from $102 this March, and from Boston, JetBlue has one-way fares from $224.

The Bahamas

The best bang for your buck in the Caribbean region this year, a one-week vacay in the archipelagic Bahamas costs $3,687, as per Insure MyTrip estimates.

The Bahamas is a classic Caribbean hub featuring breathtaking white-sand beaches, teal-colored seas, and in Exuma, you even get to swim alongside friendly pigs, and contrary to popular belief, it’s not an exclusive destination for the very few.

Naturally, there will be a handful of private Bahamian islands, home to luxurious villas and invitation-only guesthouses celebs jet off, where nightly rates go as high as the tens of thousands, but if you’re staying in Nassau, you can get it for a bargain-priced $3,257 in April.

Yep, even at Riu Palace Paradise Island.

On top of that, there are countless 4-star listings with equally-enticing weekly rates, from the Courtyard by Marriott, near downtown Nassau and Junkanoo Beach ($1,880) to the stately British Colonial Nassau, costing $2,400 to book.

If you’re going on an all-expenses-paid-for trip, you probably won’t have to worry about consumer prices locally––however, if it’s only breakfast you’re getting, you should know tourists usually spend $92 per day on meals in The Bahamas.

As for affordable flight options, United operates a nonstop route from Newark to Nassau for $167 one-way, JetBlue flies from Boston for $194, and Delta serves the archipelago from its Atlanta hub for a pricier $268.
