Hotel RIU Jambo All Inclusive Beachfront Resort
An absolutely beautiful new all inclusive beachfront resort located on stunning Nungwi Beach, listed as one of the best beaches on the island and in the world.
About RIU Resorts
Founded back in 1953 by the Riu family as a small holiday firm in Mallorca Spain, is now an internationally recognized holiday resort chain, with over 70% offering all inclusive service.
Today, they are still proudly owned by the family’s third generation. RIU Hotels & Resorts now has one hundred hotels, in twenty countries around the world.
A Review Of The Hotel RIU Jambo
This new 4 star beachfront resort is located next door to its sister resort known as the
{Riu Palace Zanzibar}. Both are situated on stunning Nungwi Beach, listed as the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar.
This new resort opened its doors in 2022 and the property is amazing. From its huge variety of guestrooms to choose from, incredible amenities offered to its lavish floral grounds, this is 4 star luxury at its best.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by reception and offered a refreshing natural fruit drink. Check in was done quickly and our porter escorted us to our guest room with our luggage.
Our guest room was more than we had expected. Located on the 9th floor with an incredible oceanfront view, complete with a large balcony to enjoy the beautiful sunsets at the end of each day.
We couldn’t have asked for anything more!

With well over 400 guestrooms at this resort, there’s a variety of rooms to select from located in various parts of the property.
From; ocean view, garden view, pool side and much more, the choice is yours when booking and requesting your preference.
All guest rooms include amenities one would expect in a 4 star luxury all inclusive resort.

Restaurants and Cocktail Bars
During your stay all; meals, snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks served 24 hours a day, are included in your stay.
Restaurants
The “Maisha” is the main buffet restaurant with an open sea view terrace to enjoy; breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The buffet is enormous, with a huge selection of dishes to choose from, to please most everyone. We enjoyed our breakfasts and most lunches at the buffet during our stay.
You can dine inside in air conditioned comfort, or outside in the open terrace with a beautiful view of the ocean.
There are 3 speciality restaurants to choose from including;
“Yunnan” Asian restaurant;
“Kulinarium” Gourmet restaurant;
“Il Panzotto” Italian restaurant.
Two (à la carte) restaurants and a bar are located over the sea on their beautiful covered terrace. Advance reservations are required and can be made easily via the resorts cell phone app.
We had an opportunity to dine in all 3 specialty restaurants during our stay. Our meal choices and the service we received from staff was excellent.
We also enjoyed lunch and snacks down at the beach, at the {Rafiki} snack bar. There’s a nice selection of buffet items to choose from all day, including freshly baked pizza.
There are 2 cocktail bars also at the Rafiki snack bar location.
Serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including; specialty coffees.
Cocktail Bars
“Karibu” lobby bar {open 24 hours};
“Bongo Flava” lounge bar with terrace;
“Hakuna Matata” poolside bar with swim-up bar;
“Rafiki” snackbar/ beach bar;
“Bahari” bar over the sea.
The {Karibu} lobby bar is open 24 hours, complete with open air seating located just off the main lobby.
All bars at the resort serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including specialty coffees and teas.
The {Bongo Flava} lounge bar is located alongside the beautiful open air theater, where you can enjoy live entertainment each evening and dancing afterwards into the wee hours.
There’s also the picturesque {Bahari} bar over the sea, located on the terrace where the two a la carte restaurants can also be found. This is a superb spot to sit back, enjoy a cocktail and watch the beautiful sunset.
During the day and into the early evening, guests also have access to the very popular;
“Hakuna Matata” poolside bar, together with the swim-up bar.
We received outstanding service from all staff at this resort during our entire stay. Reading the many reviews on Tripadvisor, it was obvious to see the feeling was mutual, from all who left reviews of their stay at this resort.

Sports and Activities
Your stay includes a variety of activities during the day to participate in, if you wish to do so.
From daily yoga on the beach in the {RiuFit} area, volleyball, aqua classes to fun activities including; bingo.
Activity staff encourage everyone to take part and have a good time!
Also included with your all inclusive stay is access to;
Stand up paddle boards, kayaking and paddle boats located at the activities area on the beach.
For those interested in scuba diving, the attached dive center offers guests 1 introductory scuba diving lesson in the main pool.
Gym – Spa
There’s an up to date indoor, air conditioned fitness room for guests who do not want to miss their daily workouts.
As well, guests have access to the Steam Bath located in the Gym/Spa building.
The resort’s {Renova Spa} offers a variety of specialty spa treatments and massages at an additional charge. There is also a beauty salon and small relaxation pool located inside the Spa.
Swimming Pools
The RIU offers 3 large separate swimming pools, plus a very popular pool swim-up bar. There are 4 pools total at the resort to choose from.
We found more than enough pool and beach loungers to choose from during our entire stay. This was a welcomed first for us, as not the case at previous all inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at in the past.
All pools were warm, well maintained and very clean. Fresh towels at the booth were always readily available throughout the day.
Kids Entertainment
There’s a daytime entertainment program for children ages 4 to 7 and ages 8 to 12 at;
“RiuLand” kids club (several times a week). There’s also a small children’s pool that may be used
with the activities staff during program times.
Evening Adult Entertainment
Each evening, guests can enjoy evening live shows located at the outdoor theatre/bar and/or; music and dancing into the wee hours of the night.
From morning to late evening, the resort offers guests a host of activities and entertainment, to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
There’s also a 24/7 Doctor and clinic situated on the property grounds, should the need arise for any medical treatment.
Gift Shop – Travel Center
Also on the property is a large gift shop, where you’ll find; clothing, souvenirs and some necessities items that may be needed during your stay.
As well, there’s a travel center for booking excursions and more for your convenience.
Without a doubt, this is the most beautiful all inclusive resort we have ever stayed at in all our years of travel.
From our amazing guest room with the incredible ocean view, beautiful manicured grounds, superb dining and bar service, to the outstanding customer service received during our entire stay.
If you’re looking for a more; upscale all inclusive resort for your stay in Zanzibar, then I definitely recommend checking out this absolutely beautiful property.
