For those preferring not to swim and/or snorkel in the water, you can enjoy the marine landscapes and its animals on the {Honu Kea}, their; Glass bottom boat.
They offer both ½ day and full day tours to choose from.
Our Full Day Moorea Lagoon Tour Experience
Our day began by meeting at their site at 9 am, to meet and gather with other guests. They have a comfortable waterfront site, complete with gift shop and eatery for visitors.
Once our boat was ready, we boarded and headed out to our first snorkeling location, just moments away from their dock.
Our guide divided our small group into 2, leading us into the water for our first snorkeling experience.

As you can see in the video, the water was absolutely amazing and the sea life was incredible as well!
On our first stop, we observed sea turtles, colorful tropical fish and also a group of Eagle Rays hovering below.
What a great start to our morning!
Moorea Lagoon
Moorea is best known for its beautiful beaches and amazing lagoon. Its waters are crystal clear with awe inspiring colors of turquoise and blues.
Its coral reef is filled with a vast variety of sea life, including manta rays and blacktip sharks.
Our next stop would be into the shallow lagoon to experience its warm crystal clear waters and swim among these friendly creatures.
Volcanic Stone Sculptures
At this next snorkeling location, included sunken Polynesian sculptures {a few shown in my video}.
“The submerged tiki are volcanic stone sculptures of between 1.50 and 2 meters in height, placed on the seabed in the shallow, clear water at Papetoai.
They are the work of the artist, Tihoti GUY from Moorea, who created this display of six tiki in 1998 as a tribute to the Polynesian ancestors who were obliged by missionaries to cast their religious symbols into the sea.”
Very cool to view this underwater artistic display of “tiki” sculptures, which this artist has created.
As well, another great opportunity to enjoy the waters and swim among friendly stingrays, black tip sharks and colorful tropical fish.
Swim Among Friendly Stingrays & Black Tip Sharks
It’s then off a short way, to another shallow location to swim and snorkel among gentle and friendly stingrays and blacktip sharks.
Your guide will assist in having you gently pet and hold these amazing and incredibly friendly stingrays.
What an unforgettable experience for everyone to enjoy!
Captain Taina Private Island Lunch Buffet
After enjoying 3 wonderful swim and snorkel stops, we all were ready for lunch on Captain Taina’s private small tropical {Motu} island.
If you choose, you can start off by tasting their “Rum of the Island.”
Your Captain & Guide will both demonstrate in a fun way how to prepare a delicious and fresh Tahitian raw fish salad with real coconut milk, to be a part of your lunch.
Your salad is complete with skewers of barbecued fish and/or chicken with rice.
To finish off this tasty lunch, there’s a homemade dessert, together with seasonal fruit.
Drinks include your choice of water, juice and/or beer.
After a great lunch, it’s free time to take in their all-natural coral island and spend time at your leisure, just relaxing and/or enjoying the crystal clear warm tropical waters, swimming and snorkeling on your own.
What a wonderful day we all had, on this incredible adventure on the water. Our Captain and Guide were superb and very helpful and professional at all times.
In the water and especially for those who may be timid, your guide will escort you at all times, making you feel completely safe and relaxed throughout the day.
If you’re looking for a very respectable and highly rated tour of this type, during your visit to Moorea, I can’t recommend Captain Tania enough.
You will have a wonderful experience and time with them, whether for ½ day, or a full day as we did.
