We chose the Old Montreal historical walking food tour, just one of the many offered by this tour company.

If you love tasting and discovering local dishes when you travel to new destinations, then you’re going to thoroughly enjoy this food tour. Your guide will also share a bit of the history of Montreal as you make your way along the streets of the city.

An ideal food and drink tour for foodie, craft beer and wine enthusiasts!

A Look At Our Old Montréal Food Tour

Our outstanding guide (Isabelle) met us and others taking this tour, at the pre-arranged meeting point and time.

After a brief introduction, we started the tour right inside this beautiful refurbished Historic Bank in Old Montreal.

Crew Collective & Café

Crew Collective & Café

Inside this beautiful building, we started right off with an amazing classic Montréal bagel topped with smoked salmon, at a very popular local cafe.

The cafe is located right where the bank tellers and main public banking area used to be years ago.

The salmon and freshly made local bagel were delicious!

What a great start to the tour and to be able to visit and see the interior of this amazing historical building.

The interior of this historic building was amazing, complete with stunning authentic elevators. Just being able to view the inside of this unique building was worth the visit.

Time to head out and make our way to our next destination, a popular local bakery.

Along the way, you get a chance to view some beautiful historic buildings, with your guide narrating the history of the area and its some of its historic structure you are walking by.

This tour will have you passing by Old Montréal’s most prominent sights including; Place d’Armes, the Old Port and St. Paul Street.

Cookie Stéfanie Bakery

This is a gluten-free bakery and we sampled their signature carrot cake. Just one of the many other delicious items they had on display for sale here.

The carrot cake was an excellent tasty gluten free treat!

Time for a little upper scale class of dining, as we make our way to one of Old Montreal’s favorite restaurants. Here, we enjoyed sampling some amazing French onion soup.

French Onion Soup

This was definitely my favorite tasting on the tour, as I absolutely love French onion soup, paired with red or white wine of your choice.

It doesn’t get much better than this!

Delicious!

As we continue on our way, Isabelle was continually enlightening the group on Montréal’s culture and its history. She would stop at various locations and historic sites, as we continued on to our next tasting.

It was on to a nice French pastry shop in Old Montreal. Here we sampled their famous Macaroons.

As we walked along the historic streets of Old Montreal, it was on to our fifth and final stop on the tour. Our last stop was to a quaint Brewpub in the city.

Montreal Poutine

Here, we sampled some of their home brewed craft beer, along with a Montreal favorite. Poutine is a dish that includes french fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy.

Craft Beer

You simply can’t come to Montreal and not try Poutine at least once!
