ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A massive Target is coming to Covington as part of a mixed-use construction project, according to developers.
Fuqua Development, an Atlanta-based company, said it’s working on the 128,000 square foot Target, as well as 100,000 square feet of additional “large-format” retail spaces and restaurants.
The property is part of Covington Town Center, a 180-acre development with several planned features — including a 29-acre greenspace, a medical office building, 250 apartment units, 270 townhomes, three hotels and more.
Site development plan maps show that the Target will be placed next to an already-open Publix. Several other properties are also already leased, such as a QT gas station, a Whataburger, a Chick-fil-A, a Dunkin’ and more.

According to Foxfield Company, the project’s main development team, the site will generate more than 1,800 jobs and attract thousands of visitors per day.
