Adopt sustainable building practices, green tech, Tanjong Batu rep tells property developer

Pang (seventh right) leads the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially launch Sheda Property Roadshow 2025 at Times Square Megamall in Bintulu.

BINTULU (Sept 20): Property developers must embrace sustainable building practices by adopting green technologies, from energy-efficient designs to the use of renewable resources and eco-friendly materials in future developments.

This call was made by Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang, who hailed such an approach as crucial for ensuring the long-term resilience of the property sector for the benefit of communities and future generations.

He also urged developers to pay serious attention to resolving stalled or uncompleted housing projects.

“Prompt action, open communication, and active collaboration with the relevant authorities are necessary to safeguard the interests of homebuyers and maintain public confidence,” he made these remarks in officiating at the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda) Property Roadshow 2025 at Times Square Megamall here yesterday.

The event was attended by Sheda president Augustine Wong, Sheda Bintulu branch chairman Noel Yek, former chairman and advisor Troy Yaw, organising committee chairperson Cassandra Hii, as well as advisors and committee members of Sheda Bintulu branch.

On the roadshow, Pang lauded the dedication of the organising team in maintaining the consistency of the programme, which had become an annual event.

“This year’s edition is the largest to date, featuring 24 developers and exhibitors showcasing the latest housing and commercial projects, alongside related products and services.

“For prospective homeowners and entrepreneurs, this event is a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insights into current development trends.

“I encourage everyone to take advantage of what this exhibition has to offer,” he added.

At the ongoing Sheda Property Roadshow 2025, visitors can enjoy a series of activities including property talks, cultural performances, competitions for children, and community-focused programmes such as a blood donation drive.
