Council gives green light plan for Sioux City’s Wetmore building

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The City of Sioux City is moving ahead with plans for the old Wetmore building and the land where the old Sioux City Auditorium once stood.

The Sioux City City Council accepted Tri-State Real Estate Development’s proposal to buy the property at 615 Douglas Street and 625 Douglas Street, downtown.

Tri-State Real Estate Development submitted a proposal outlining plans to convert the old Wetmore Building, at 615 Douglas, into an apartment building with commercial space on the bottom floor.

The plans also include adding a green space and additional parking.

The city council will now have the interim city manager negotiate the specifics of the sale.
